In 1959 First Presbyterian Church founded the Weekday Preschool. The program for 3 and 4 year olds is operated by the church. A staff of three teachers, trained in early childhood education, emphasizes a child-oriented, non-competitive approach. The school supports the philosophy of learning through play.

A faith thread is woven through the schedule. Among other stories, Bible stories are shared. Prayers are had a snack times and sometimes at the start of the day. Periodically a chapel time is had with the Pastor, particularly at special seasons such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter. Some faith songs are sung. The intent is not to proselytize but in a simple manner, expose children to the riches of the Judeo-Christian heritage.

A $40 non-refundable registration fee is due with the application.

The daily program is 8:45 am to 11:45am.

• 2010/2011 tuition for 2 day program (Tuesday, Thursday) for 3 year olds - $925 / year ($107 / month)
• 2010/2011 tuition for 3 day program (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) for 4 year olds - $1375 / year ($159 Month)
